Ingredients

  • 160 grams Green Apple (peeled and grated)
  • 100 grams Sugar

Instructions

  • Wash and peel the apples and grate them.
  • Immediately transfer to a pan and add sugar. Start the heat on low medium flame.
  • Keep stirring in between and let it cook for at least 15 minutes. Test if the jam is done cooking by taking a spoonful on a plate. It should be thick and not of runny consistency.
  • Now, turn off the flame and let the jam cool. Transfer it to a glass jar once cooled.
  • Spread on bread slices, use inside sweet buns and rotis. This will make a good breakfast/snack option for kids when they want to eat something sweet.

Notes

If you do not wish to grate, you may puree the apples too before you add the sugar and start cooking them.
I have used one and half apples for making this recipe and it weighed 160 grams in all. If you use two full apples, the weight may come about 200 grams and so you can use 125 grams sugar for that.
This recipe yields around 160 grams of jam after cooking.
