- 175 grams All-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
- 35 grams Cocoa Powder (⅓ cup + 1 tablespoon)
- Pinch Table Salt
- 130 grams Powdered White Sugar/Caster Sugar
- 100 ml Hot Milk (not boiling)
- 100 grams Unsalted Butter
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Measure and sift the dry ingredients, i.e., flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Also measure and sift sugar in the same bowl. Keep aside.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter just until it starts melting. Do not over-heat the butter. To this, add Vanilla extract and hot milk.
Add the wet ingredients immediately to the dry ingredients and combine.
Transfer the batter to an 8x8 square baking dish and bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes at 170°C.
Once done, let the brownies rest for at least 3-4 hours before consumption for best flavours.
You may add chocolate chips, chocolate chunks, Oreo pieces, hazelnuts or walnuts(like I did) or simply few m&ms if making for kids.
Making the brownies one day ahead before consumption will bring out the best flavour in these delicious brownies. It's the same for all brownies though.
Use a good quality cocoa powder as most of the flavour comes from this single ingredient only.
